ABOUT THE ARTIST

Trudy Shelley is the fourth generation to live on the land of the Everitt family homestead.  As a family tradition, many members have been recognized for their work in the Arts.  She has called upon the life and history around her as her inspiration.

For 30 years her Bull Terriers have been one of her sources of inspiration used in the nearly 200 paintings she has done.  The Bull Terriers as well as dolls, horses and gold are used to create the strong images as a contrast to the powerful patterns.  Travel throughout the world has also inspired and influenced her work as she incorporated the different lifestyles into her paintings.  These paintings have been exhibited world wide, and are included in many prestigious private and corporate collections.

To Trudy Shelley quality is paramount, therefore she uses only the best materials such as linen, imported oils and 23k gold.  Her work has been described as heavily patterned, with vibrant colors and meticulous detail.  Several hundred hours of her time may be consumed by one of  her paintings.

Ultimately the paintings' sole purposes are to illuminate and capture on canvas the things that capture the interest of her heart and mind.
