Spike came to us in the middle of January. He is 3
1/2 years old. The family just had a baby so they
had no time for Spike anymore. He is a wonderful boy
who is looking for a forever home where he can be
loved and made to feel secure. He is sweet natured;
his tag from his former family says it all " Spike"
aka Little Angel. Although he is shy at first, once
he realizes that you are his friend Spike wants
tummy rubs and expects you to play with him. He is a
clever dog but he will need to go to dog school so
his owner can get to be trained! We would like to
place Spike in a home where there are older children
who will have time to play with him and take him for
walks. Spike needs to be an only pet. |

Meet Boomer (AKA the Sonic Boom) Boomer is only
four but he is a GREAT BIG BOY! He has joined our
rescue only recently and we are currently assessing
him, running some health tests and evaluating his
interaction with others. There were allegations that
he may have been abused in his former home and he
needs to learn that it's okay to greet people with a
smile and a wagging tail; that people are
friends...and they have treats and kind words.
Boomer was in a home with multiple dogs and he
sometimes did not behave well towards the other dogs
there, so we think he should be an only pet. Boomer
needs a structured, secure environment, where he can
play with his beloved yellow football and splash
under the hose (which he loves to do) where he can
know that only kindness comes from the people he
meets. Boomer will be available for adoption after
his mandatory assessment is completed, we know that
he will blossom and be a super -Sonic Boomer when he
finds his forever home . Boomer will need to be on Thyroid medicine for the rest of his life, but we hope that once he gets his meds regularly he will begin to be more energetic and he will lose some weight. UPDATE: Boomer is blossoming...he is less uncertain about the people he meets, and enjoys his time in the paddock with new vigor. His foster mom's assessment? She says he's a lovely, lovely dog. JAKE (alias the Love Bunny) At just 7 months of
age, Good Boy Jake was sadly surrendered by his new
owner when it became apparent that a Bullie puppy
and an 8-year old Boerboel was not going to be a
harmonious mix in the house, since the Boerboel ,
who weighs 175 lbs, was jealous and the puppy was
just beginning to assert himself. Jake has been
neutered since then and is doing quite well in his
foster home. Jake is a very affectionate boy, he
LOVES attention and is good as much as a 8 month old
puppy can be!! He is playful and will need to go to
dog school; but his affectionate nature is a
sure-fire instant love affair when you meet him.
Right now we would feel comfortable placing him in a
home with children over 8 years old, and suggest
that if there are other dogs, they should be

Lucy is a sweet, active, female bull terrier. She was recently brought to the Shelter as a stray whom no one claimed. Approximately 4-5 years old, about 55 lbs with a beautiful, red and white coat. Lucy is heartworm negative, vaccines current & micro chipped. Will soon be spayed. Lucy is crate trained, may be housebroken, learning to walk on loose leash. So far, Lucy is friendly to adults & children. We recommend children 7+ years old, as she loves to leap and bump in play. (small children may be knocked over She has been friendly with dogs she meets, while supervised on leash. Does not react to cats. We are now evaluating Lucy and looking for a foster home for her. |
