HIGHLIGHTS OF THE BOARD MEETING 03/22/08
New Member Packet Inserts: Health, Performance and Rescue inserts for new member packets are completed and will be added effective immediately. Silverwood 2010: Will be hosted by The Golden Triangle Club in Pittsburgh. BTCA Members only Yahoo List: Will be owned and moderated by Claudia Sharp. Membership in the list is open to all BTCA members and is strictly voluntary. The list content, unless specifically stated, is not approved by the BTCA. This list does not replace anything governed by the constitution. Official business of the BTCA will continue to be conducted as called for by its constitution. The BTCA Board will use the list at its discretion to run polls, give notifications, provide information and receive membership feedback. Claudia will report back to the Board on member feedback issues and poll results. Membership Poll: There will be a membership poll regarding the option of splitting the Specialty classes on SIlverwood weekend. The membership poll will be on Claudia’s website. If a member does not have e-mail or prefers written responses to a poll, responses can be sent to myself or Claudia Sharp. Health Committee: Proposals approved include 1) Limited Health Survey, 2) Free Database for cataloguing health results, 3) Health Seminars from previous Silverwoods to be made available in a DVD format, 4) Health Clinic focus on Echo/Dopplers at Silverwood 2008 for Heart Study at MSU. BTCA Publications (BARKS, The Record, Website): Becky Poole, Naomi Waynee, Claudia Sharp & Linda Maddox will look into ways to save money and coordinate information so there are fewer duplications. Website: Seeking 2-3 additional volunteers to work with Claudia Sharp, Alesia Cooke and Chris Hutter to redesign the website. Prizes at Regional Specialties: Awards will now be monetary prizes and certificates. This will save the BTCA approximately $2000.00 annually. Bylaw Changes: The current Board has voted for a membership vote on the Bylaw changes for term Limits to be across the Board limits or no limits. The current proposed language will be adjusted and be submitted to the AKC for approval. Upon approval from the AKC they will go to the membership along with other approved Bylaw changes for membership vote. Meeting Notice: The next meeting of the Board will be in New England on Friday, May 30, 2008 in association with the Ladies and Framingham Kennel Club Shows. David Harris Resigns: David Harris resigned from the Board. The club and the Board thank him for his time and service. The Board will exercise its constitutional authority in selecting David's replacement. We will notify you of your new Board representative as soon as possible.
