Referral List are provided as a courtesy for informational purposes only. (Breeders may contact
Claudia Sharp for information on
being added to this list.) These names represent breeders who at the time
their names were placed here were members in good standing of the Club. This means that they had pledged to uphold the Standard of
Conduct of the Club. We recommend

Why Buy from a
BTCA member breeder? A BTCA member breeder is a member in good standing of the Bull Terrier Club of America. As such, a member is entitled to have his/her name listed on the Breeders List. The primary reasons why it is advantageous to buy from a member breeder are: ˇ As a buyer, you will want the puppy that is best suited to your situation and lifestyle. A member breeder is very interested in matching the potential owner needs to the most complementary temperament, activity level and size of the puppy. ˇ As a buyer, a good relationship with the member breeder will afford you access to on-going advice and support as your new family member grows and develops. ˇ As a buyer from a member breeder, you are assuring yourself that your puppy is coming from superior, health screened, breeding stock. If you want to know more about health screening and why it is so important click here HEALTH SCREENING As you begin to search for your puppy, there are a few things to keep in mind. Member breeders breed primarily to produce select stock from which they perpetuate and improve their line. All puppies from a litter bred from parents who are sound in mind and body, and socialized properly, can make wonderful companions. Member breeders may distinguish their puppies in a litter as strictly companions, or as companions with potential for showing and breeding. If you are interested in strictly a companion, you are likely to encounter a series of questions designed to ensure that a Bull Terrier is the right breed for you and to facilitate the best possible match of your lifestyle to the puppys character. If you are looking for a puppy with show and breeding potential there are additional issues to be discussed. If youd like more information on these subjects click here
. QUESTIONS BREEDERS
QUESTIONS BUYERS MAY ASK BUYERS SHOULD ASK BREEDERS The key below will give you an indication of the puppies/adults that a breeder will sometimes have available: CP Companion puppy. These puppies are typically sold outright without
breeding terms. Spaying or neutering may be a SP - Puppy with show/breeding potential. These puppies typically exhibit several very desirable physical characteristics to further and benefit a breeding program and may be sold with breeding terms (i.e. money plus the requirement of a puppy(s) back) or occasionally outright, but in this case probably with a premium price. Usually few puppies in a litter qualify for this consideration and are often retained by the breeder. These terms are negotiable and may vary widely. A - Adults. These are typically young adults who were retained by the breeder for show and breeding potential. Often they are well socialized, leash trained and house trained. They may or may not have been shown, and some may have completed their Championship title. If you are not into all the effort that puppy rearing requires, this may be the best solution to acquiring the Bull Terrier of your dreams. Prices for these are sometimes less than for young puppies.
